The North West Regional Open Masters Tournament 2014 will run on 7-9 March 2014. It's a competition for men & women who are Over 35 with age groups right up to Over 75. After a successful, friendly and social inaugural event in 2012, it is now an official England Squash Masters regional ranking points event. This will mean you will be able to earn ranking points that go towards selection for the England International team. While we hope to attract an even higher quality draw than last year, we also would like to continue to encourage local players and those that are new to the Masters circuit. Entry has closed.

Organisation

1. Please arrive at the club at least 30 minutes before your scheduled match time and register at the tournament desk situated in the Presidents Suite bar.
2. Tournament guarantees everyone at least 2 games through a plate competition. Please let us know whether you want to play to in the plate by emailing - masters@groveparksquash.org.uk
   
3. Start times on Friday will be from midday depending on numbers in each age group - please advise us of the earliest you are able to play on Friday. The tournament finals will be 10am-2pm Sunday.
4. The age groups Over 35, 40 & 45 use point-a-rally scoring to 11, all others use HI-HO (English) scoring.
5. In the event of limited entry some age groups may be amalgamated.
6. Due to court availability, some matches may be played at Total Fitness located just off the A34 Wilmslow - Handforth Bypass, Handforth, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 3PE. It's 1.4 miles away. Map & directions
7. As home to past/present British Masters Champions Grove Park hope to have Yawar Abbas, Laura Mylotte and Rod Boswell competing in their respective age groups

What's on offer

1. Friday evening - Lasagne night!:
   £5 – Lasagne and chips (with vegetarian option)
   Although food will be served during the afternoon and early evening for games scheduled for Friday afternoon - we are aiming to eat as a social function from (approx) 9pm (as we do for our Thursday night team matches) and tables will be set out in the Presidents Suite for players/guests to eat/drink and chat informally.
   
   Saturday evening - Curry night!
   Evening meal: £5 – Chicken curry rice/chips (with vegetarian option)
   The curry evening food will start from (approx) 7pm, where again we hope eat/drink together as a social function.

2. A range of food and drink available at the club to purchase throughout the tournament, including FREE 'continental breakfast’ on both Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8am-10am.

4. Our tournament partners, Pinewood on Wilmslow Best Western Plus Hotel, can offer double/twin room only at just £50 per night. They will do B&B for £70 double/twin and £60 single B&B. It is 4 star and is 1.6 miles away from the club. Also included is a free pass to Total Fitness – which is just a few minutes away and includes a huge gym, indoor 200 metre running track, and a 25m swimming pool:

… also … and close to where we are located:

1. Man City & Man United both do tours of their grounds (one will be at home over the tournament weekend!)
2. Within 5 mins we have John Lewis, Sainsburys, M&S and Tescos
3. Great bar/restaurant (The Pointing Dog) at the end of the drive
4. Model train rides (for adults and children!) on Sundays around the park next door!

…. as well as Manchester City Centre shops, restaurant and bars, China Town and the Trafford Centre is 30 mins by train/car
