{"id":138,"date":"2010-02-09T23:18:56","date_gmt":"2010-02-09T23:18:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/groveparksquash.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=138"},"modified":"2010-05-10T17:07:41","modified_gmt":"2010-05-10T17:07:41","slug":"ladies-win-cheshire-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/groveparksquash.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=138","title":{"rendered":"Ladies win Cheshire Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ladies team have won their first silverware of what is turning into a fantastic season.\u00a0 The Cheshire Challenge Cup is open to all teams in the Cheshire league irrespective of geography and there are 5 players on a team.<!--more--><br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe first round was played before Christmas against Bowdon&#8217;s first team, who won the league convincingly last year.\u00a0 A tough game for Evie at 5 losing 3-2 to an up and coming junior who has subsequently moved up Bowdon&#8217;s first team.\u00a0 Natalie at 4 won 3-1 after losing the 3rd game after being 8-0 up against an experienced player who dug her heels in to win that one 10-8.\u00a0 Myself, Kirsty and Laura with convincing 3-0 wins at 3, 2 and 1 respectively.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe final was a round robin at Warrington Sports between Brooklands, Northern 1 and GP on\u00a0 25 January.\u00a0 Best of 3 games otherwise we would have been playing well into the early hours!!\u00a0 A convincing win for the team (Laura, Kirsty, myself, Evie and Liz) winning every match without dropping a game. T<\/p>\n<p>The team are still unbeaten in the league and on course to win their first Championship title since 2005-06.<br \/>\nThey have also made it to the final of the Cheshire Cup (only 3 players per team in this competition).
